Are Curses For Real?

4 Cursed Objects You Probably Won’t Believe Actually Exist

Are curses for real?

Are there really objects that have been cursed and could cause bad luck or worse, disasters?

A lot of people might think that curses, cursed objects, and psychic or clairvoyant are not real and that they are only hearsays.

However, there are other people who are terrified just by the mere thought of the word “curse”. This may be because they have had a close encounter with it, or know someone who has firsthand knowledge or experience with it.

Whether you believe in curses or not, though, there are several artifacts that have been known to be damned or possessed by evil beings and could cause bad things to happen to anyone who touches them.

Cursed objects from around the world

Here are some of the most famous objects that have been known to cause misfortunes or misery to any person who tries to mess them.

1. The Hope Diamond

This 45.52-carat rare gem was reported to have been discovered a billion years ago. Its estimated worth nowadays is between $200 and $250 million. It is now kept in the Smithsonian Natural History Museum after it has been passed around the world so many times in the past. The Hope Diamond is believed to be damned as it can cause the worst of luck to anyone who dares to wear it. It was also reported that those who have worn it have suffered from such great misfortune, including divorce, imprisonment, bankruptcy, torture, suicide, and decapitation. The worst of the reported incidents involving the Hope Diamond include a person having been ripped apart by dogs. Skeptics say, though, that these stories were only made to increase the rare gem’s value.

2. Annabelle the Possessed Doll

The story behind the movie about a doll with the same name is true. The cursed Annabelle doll was originally discovered inside an antique shop in the 70s. It was rumored that after a mother bought the doll as a gift for her daughter, strange occurrences have started to happen in their household. For instance, the doll would appear in other places inside the house without them taking it. There was also one time when the mother discovered that the doll had been standing on its legs without any support. Aside from that, fresh blood droplets would appear on the doll’s dress. Because of the unexplained phenomena, the family called in paranormal experts who claimed that the doll was indeed possessed by a little girl named Annabelle Higgins who was murdered. The family decided to keep the doll despite knowing that it had been possessed. However, the attacks had become vicious, prompting the family to seek help from psychic investigators, Ed and Lorraine Warren, who ultimately kept the doll inside a glass cabinet in their Occult Museum.

3. The Cursed Mirror of Myrtles Plantation

This mirror is said to be the most haunted item on the Myrtles Plantation, which is also believed to be an extremely cursed place. It was reported, too, that since this mirror was brought to the home in 1980, it has trapped inside it the spirits of Sara Woodruff and her children who were said to be poisoned by one of the slaves named Chloe. Tradition has it that family members are to cover all mirrors inside their homes to prevent them from capturing spirits. However, the husband, Clark, missed one of the mirrors. Guests at the plantation, which has now been transformed into a bed and breakfast, claim that they have seen figures in the mirror.

4. The Crying Boy Painting

This particular painting of a crying boy was a reproduction of Bruno Amadio’s famous 1950s painting with the same theme. Rumors have it that pictures of this mournful child can cause a fire. On September 4, 1985, a report was made about a house that burned down. However, surprisingly, the painting of “The Crying Boy” was unscathed. There were also talks of other fire incidents where the only undamaged item inside the houses were the paintings of the same boy.
